We are a fast-growing firm with big ambitions -- we have a clear goal to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. This vision touches everything we do, motivating and inspiring us to become better every day. If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, then RSM is the place for you.

Make an Impact at RSM UK

At RSM, our consulting team brings together diverse advisory experts to deliver our six core solutions: business transformation, forensic, deal services, restructuring, finance function support, and risk and governance.

Our solutions address the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities our clients face as they strive to achieve their aspirations and organisational goals. Whether supporting global expansion, developing acquisition strategies, facilitating private equity investments, or collaborating with boards to manage risk and governance, our consulting experts work as one cohesive team. We prioritize simplicity, providing data-driven insights, value-added assurance, and high-quality execution to empower our clients in building sustainable, future-fit businesses.

It’s an exciting time to join our consulting team, as we embark on ambitious growth plans that promise to create diverse career opportunities. We are committed to enhancing our six solutions, expanding and developing our team of expert consultants, embracing a digital-first approach, strengthening our global presence, and building strong client relationships.

Our established Forensic and Investigation Services team have a number of vacancies. Our focus is on getting the ideal addition to the team, so we can be flexible on geography. Our ideal candidate has a genuine interest in fraud prevention, whether through investigating it, assisting clients in identifying control gaps and remedying them, training staff to recognize and prevent fraud, or a combination of these.

RSM’s Forensic and Investigation Services team provides a range of counter fraud services to public and private sector clients, including NHS bodies, who are required by the NHS Counter Fraud Authority (CFA) to report annually. Our NHS clients contract us for varying days per year to provide proactive (preventative) services. Our staff are also accredited to undertake criminal investigations where NHS clients are victims of fraud.

We are seeking staff for both proactive and reactive roles.

You will have experience in delivering some of the above tasks and be confident in engaging with clients independently. You will be responsible for specific clients, overseeing all work, ensuring quality, and liaising with their staff at all levels.

As an investigator in our reactive team, you should be experienced in conducting investigations independently, assessing referrals, setting lines of enquiry, and undertaking these autonomously. Skills in taking witness statements, conducting interviews of witnesses and suspects, and presenting criminal prosecutions (preferably as an Officer in Charge) are desirable.

You will make an impact by:

  • Undertaking Fraud and Bribery Risk Assessments, working with senior managers to understand controls, testing their effectiveness, and scoring residual risk.
  • Reviewing policies related to fraud and bribery, ensuring controls are adequate to reduce offences and support disciplinary actions.
  • Liaising with senior staff, reporting to the Director of Finance or CFO, and producing reports for the Audit Committee.
  • Receiving referrals of offences, identifying potential losses or gains, and planning investigations accordingly.
  • Requesting evidence under the Data Protection Act.
  • Gathering evidence, taking witness statements, and conducting interviews under caution.
What we are looking for:

Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning, and enjoys connecting with people? Are you passionate about sustainability, business, delivering quality, and team-oriented? If so, this role is perfect for you!

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Our ideal candidate will:

  • Pass enhanced security vetting (NPPV + SC) and DBS clearance.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex, sensitive information and producing high-quality reports.
  • Be well-organized, able to manage workloads independently, and committed to high-quality client service.
  • Work autonomously, use initiative, and strive to exceed expectations.
What we can offer you:

We recognize our people are our greatest assets. We offer a flexible benefits package, including:

  • Hybrid working
  • 26 days holiday
  • Health, wellbeing, and financial benefits, including a virtual GP, electric car scheme, and financial tools
  • Access to over 300 courses on demand
