Are you a visionary technologist eager to build something from the ground up with purpose and impact?

Green Orbit is seeking a Market Place Solution Strategist to join our founding team in a pro bono (volunteer) capacity. This is a unique chance to shape a platform at its inception and drive forward a bold vision for sustainable e-commerce. You will be the technical leader steering our platform’s evolution and ensuring we leverage cutting-edge tools to make sustainability smarter through tech.

• What You’ll Do: (Minimal time commitment – approx. 4 board meetings per year + a few hours per monthProvide strategic advice on choosing and optimizing marketplace infrastructure
• Recommend best-in-class e-commerce tools, platforms, and integration methods.
• Guide our scalability strategy based on your experience in marketplace growth.
• Mentor and strategically support our technology and operational teams to ensure readiness for rapid expansion.

About You (Ideal Candidate)

We’re looking for a seasoned tech visionary who is excited about our mission and can elevate our capabilities. You might be a fit if you are:

• Startup-Savvy: You have experience applying technology in startups or fast-paced environments, especially in e-commerce or online platforms. You understand the constraints and creativity needed in an early-stage company.
• Sustainability & Tech Passion: You have a genuine interest in sustainable technology. You’re excited about applying tech innovation to solve environmental challenges.
• Architect & Scaler: You’re skilled in software architecture and system design, capable of blueprinting a robust platform. You’ve helped scale products or infrastructures to support growing user bases, and you can advise on making our platform reliable and efficient as we grow.
• Technical Mentor & Strategist: You’re a strong technical communicator and mentor. You can articulate complex tech ideas for non-technical stakeholders and inspire a development team. Importantly, you’re comfortable guiding and advising (rather than hands-on coding) – this role is about high-level influence and coaching.
• UK-Based & Remote-Friendly: You are in the UK (this is important for occasional meetups or events and understanding our market). You’re adept at working remotely and can be available for virtual meetings or calls.
• Minimal Time, Maximum Impact: You have a few hours to spare each month for a cause you believe in. You’re seeking a purpose-driven side role where you can make a difference without a heavy time investment. Your motivation is to contribute your expertise to something meaningful.
