Job description

Environmental Health - Private Sector Housing Officer

This is not a role for the faint hearted – and that’s exactly why it’s one of the most rewarding places you can work in housing enforcement. You’ll be joining a team that is
  • Actively involved in national and London-wide pilot schemes, working with:
  • Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • MHCLG
  • Greater London Authorrity (GLA)
  • At the forefront of housing enforcement
  • Operating a large licensing scheme
  • Has extensive tribunal experience – you wont just read about enforcement, you’ll do it
  • Working hand-in-hand with an experienced in-house legal team, giving you support and credibility in complex cases.

A degree in Environmental Health, or registration as a Registered Housing Health Practitioner or Environmental Health Practitioner is essential, as well as a sound working knowledge of HHSRS.

  • Benefits include flexible, hybrid working, 25 days annual leave increasing to 28 days after 5 years and 30 days after 10 years of continuous Local Government service.

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract.
