Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is supporting Haringey Council in recruiting a Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer for a 3–6 month contract, with a view to extension or permanent placement for the right candidate. Based at N22 7TY, hybrid working is available.

The role requires a qualified Environmental Health Officer with housing experience and the ability to manage housing-related investigations and compliance tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Environmental Health Officer with housing experience.
• Strong knowledge of housing health and safety compliance.
• Ability to assess risks and apply enforcement where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out housing and public health visits including pest control, drainage, nuisance and licensing compliance.
• Provide guidance to service users and stakeholders on team and council services.
• Respond to complaints about poor property conditions and housing-related nuisance.
• Use a risk-based approach to assess housing risks and determine appropriate remedies.

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Haringey Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer this role will be based at: N22 7TY Hybrid

The right candidate will:

• Carry out Housing and Public Health-related visits, including Pest control, Drainage, Nuisance & Compliance with licensing conditions
• Provide service users and stakeholders with comprehensive advice, guidance and information on the team's services and wider council services.
• Respond to complaints relating to: Poor property conditions, Housing-related nuisance & Private housing sector issues
• Use a risk-based approach when assessing housing and property-related complaints. and apply appropriate investigative and evaluation techniques to: Assess housing risks and hazards, Identify the nature and cause of problems, Determine appropriate remedies, Assess the urgency of issues and Support effective rectification of problems

We require the following:

• Must be a qualified Environmental Health Officers with experience in the housing field who can hit the ground running.
