Led by Partner Simon Kirkup, our growing team has an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to join us in Newcastle, advising corporate and charitable bodies as well as significant private estates. This is a genuine chance to join a highly motivated and supportive team with a wealth of relevant experience.

What will you be doing?

  • Buying and selling agricultural and sporting estates.
  • Advising on the sale of land for development – sales, options, promotion agreements.
  • Advising on a wide range of green energy projects.
  • Advising on landlord/tenant issues related to agricultural, commercial, and residential property.
  • Advising lenders on loans to owners of agricultural property.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You could be a qualified lawyer with experience in rural real estate or an experienced real estate lawyer seeking to move into this specialist area. Requirements include excellent drafting skills, a sense of commercial pragmatism, and the ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships with rural clients.

To be successful, you'll need at minimum:

  • A legal qualification with 3+ years' post-admission experience.
  • Experience in an Agriculture or Real Estate legal team.
  • Experience acting for landowners on development projects or in buying and selling land.
