Job summary

Priory Hospital Ticehurst is seeking a Visiting Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to establish or expand a private practice within an established hospital. The role focuses on inpatient and outpatient care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ongoing governance and professional development.

Ideal candidates will have GMC registration in General Adult Psychiatry, substantial NHS consultant experience, and a patient-centred leadership style.

Qualifications

• GMC Specialist Registration in General Adult Psychiatry.
• Substantive NHS Consultant experience (typically at least two years).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary working.
• Patient-centred approach.
• Availability ideally three or more days per week.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage private adult inpatients and outpatients.
• Deliver high-quality evidence-based psychiatric care.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in governance and quality improvement.
• Develop relationships with referrers.
• Maintain appraisal and GMC revalidation requirements.
