Job summary

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic NHS Trust (RJAH) is seeking an experienced senior leader to steer Private Patient Services. You will shape growth, lead commercial negotiations, and drive high-quality, patient-centred care while ensuring regulatory compliance across the private portfolio.

You will advise Executives, manage complex contracts, and build partnerships with insurers and referrers to maximise income and sustain financial stability.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a related subject and postgraduate leadership experience.
• Experience leading private patient services or NHS private care portfolios.
• Proven track record of strategic service development and change management.
• Experience negotiating with private insurers and external partners.
• Strong financial literacy including income modelling and P&L awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for private patient services across the Trust.
• Lead commercial development, income growth and tariff negotiations with insurers.
• Oversee governance, risk, and compliance for private healthcare activities.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, executives, insurers and external partners.
• Develop and deliver the private patient strategy and annual income targets.
