Job description

Private Law Facilitator | 8654 | permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £36,124 to £37,938 per annum | Grade I | Based at County Hall, Norwich (flexible working arrangements)

Are you analytically minded, with knowledge of private family law and a passion for supporting and developing others?

We are looking for someone to take the lead in developing our practice in private family law and provide a link between the Local Authority and the family court in relation to private law proceedings.

You will join our newly created Court Work and Pre-proceedings Team. The Court Work and Pre-proceedings Team provides support to our child and family-facing teams in all aspects of Court Work with a focus on improving quality and consistency and supporting best practice.

With a focus on Private Law, you will be responsible for ensuring a timely response to the Family Court in Private Law proceedings to minimise delay for children and young people. You will also support and upskill practitioners, including Social Workers, in managing private law cases and in preparation of evidence, so the best outcome is achieved for the child/young person.

With a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject such as Law, Social Work, or Probation, you will have proven experience of working effectively with children and their families within the family justice system. You will have knowledge of private law and public law work including pre-proceedings and care proceedings.

We have embraced the Family Help model, placing practitioners and relationship-based practice at the heart of what we do. Our Pillars of Practice set the vision for our practice with children in Norfolk, to work with whole family networks and across the whole system to support families to build on their strengths and achieve the best possible outcomes.

If you are looking for the opportunity to improve court work practice and you want to work with us to shape the future of Childrens Services in Norfolk, we want to hear from you.
