Job summary

Greycoat Lumleys seeks an experienced Caretaker/House Manager for a private rural residence in Cheshire. The role oversees maintenance, security, event management, and discreet front-of-house support, with a self-contained flat accommodation.

Hours are full-time over 5 days per week with some weekend flexibility. Salary starts at £35,000 per annum, with a comprehensive benefits package including pension and private health cover. Enhanced DBS checks and driving are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent references and Enhanced DBS checks required.
• Drivers essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular inspections of the main residence, outbuildings and external areas.
• Monitor and operate heating, hot water, lighting, alarms, drainage and other systems, reporting faults and arranging specialist support where required.
• Supervise contractors and suppliers, ensuring safe access and a high standard of work.
• Keep entrances, stores, garages, refuse areas and service spaces clean, orderly and presentable.
• Assist with deliveries, stock control, vehicle or equipment checks and the safe movement of furniture and household items.
• Event management and planning in conjunction with the family and the estate office.
