Job summary

GradBay invites highly motivated students to join its European Private Credit team for a summer internship in London. You will gain hands-on experience across the investment lifecycle and work closely with mentors on real projects.

Interns may be considered for the graduate programme subject to performance. A minimum commitment of two in-office days per week is required during June–August 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree and on track to graduate in 2028.
• Available to work full-time from end of June to end of August 2027, including at least two days per week in London office.
• Have right to work in the UK for the full duration of the internship.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus but not required.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Interest in financial markets and private credit investing.

Responsibilities

• Support identification and screening of new investment opportunities across Europe.
• Assist with evaluating businesses and due diligence in acquisitions.
• Analyze commercial strengths, risks and potential returns of opportunities.
• Assist with building and reviewing financial models.
• Support management of existing investments with portfolio company teams.
• Help monitor investment performance and prepare client reports.
• Gain exposure to fundraising for future funds and attend Investment Committee meetings.
• Shadow senior colleagues and support day-to-day team activities.

About the opportunity

Interested in how investment firms assess businesses, structure lending opportunities and manage risk? Join a leading global asset management firm for a summer internship within its European Private Credit team.

The team invests across direct lending, leveraged loans, capital solutions and structured credit, building diversified portfolios with a focus on attractive risk-adjusted returns and capital preservation.

You’ll gain practical experience across the investment lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and evaluating companies to monitoring existing investments. Alongside your day-to-day work, you’ll benefit from individual projects, speaker sessions, networking opportunities and support from experienced mentors and managers.

Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the firm’s graduate programme the following year.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the identification and screening of new investment opportunities across Europe.
• Helping evaluate businesses and assisting with due diligence and the investment acquisition process.
• Analysing the commercial strengths, risks and potential returns of investment opportunities.
• Assisting with the construction and review of financial models.
• Supporting the management of existing investments, working with investment colleagues and portfolio company management teams on business plans, investment projects and commercial opportunities.
• Helping monitor investment performance and prepare reports for clients.
• Gaining exposure to fundraising for future investment funds.
• Attending Investment Committee meetings to understand how investment decisions are made.
• Shadowing experienced colleagues and supporting the team’s day-to-day activities.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll need to:

• Be currently enrolled on a bachelor’s or master's degree and on track to graduate in 2028, by 1 July.
• Be available to work full-time from the end of June to the end of August 2027, including at least two days per week in the London office.
• Have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme. Students on a student visa are welcome, provided their visa permits the required full-time hours throughout the internship.
• Be fluent in English. Additional European languages are beneficial but not essential.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work to deadlines.
• Communicate clearly and work effectively with colleagues.
• Have experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Show a keen interest in financial markets and a curiosity about private credit investing.
