Job summary

PIMCO is seeking a 2027 MBA Summer Intern – Credit Research Analyst for the EMEA region. The internship is a 10-week program based in London, offering formal training, mentorship and hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one.

You will support senior credit analysts, learn about industries, and contribute to investment discussions while gaining exposure to global fixed income markets. Relocation support is provided.

Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent with emphasis in Finance/Economics or related quantitative field
• Available to start full-time from Jan 2028 to Aug 2028 in London
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Willingness to work in London during internship

Responsibilities

• Assess industries and companies to inform investment recommendations for portfolio managers
• Provide analytical support highlighting risks across debt structures (investment grade to high yield)
• Assist with day-to-day coverage, learning industries and credit analysis workflows

2027 MBA Summer Intern – Credit Research Analyst, EMEA

Internship positions are located at PIMCO's London Office

You're eligible to apply if you:

• Are pursuing an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree as it relates to the position

• Must be able to begin full time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 - August 2028

• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)

• Must be willing to work in London

Credit Research

Credit Research analysts evaluate various industries and companies to make investment recommendations to PIMCO's portfolio managers group. They also provide analytical support for the firm’s portfolio managers by highlighting risks. Credit analysts at PIMCO specialize in a number of industries and cover all levels of the debt capital structure - investment grade bonds, high yield ("junk") bonds, bank debt and convertibles. Summer interns will work alongside our seasoned credit analysts, supporting them in their coverage responsibilities, while learning about the various industries and day-to-day responsibilities.

The PIMCO Fundamentals training program will provide you with the skills, knowledge and relationships that will prepare you to succeed in your internship. Your informal training will continue throughout the summer at PIMCO - everyday, in a perpetual learning environment. Desired candidates should possess the following characteristics:

• Skills conducting research and basic financial modeling. Demonstrates natural intuition to make good judgments

• Strong interest in the financial markets, macroeconomics and investment finance

• Proactive in thinking about potential investment ideas.

• Good communicator; strong written and oral presentation abilities. Needs to be persuasive and credible

• Strong academic credentials and achievement

• Have demonstrated curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes

The PIMCO Internship Experience:

• The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program

Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors.
