Job summary

Barclay Simpson is seeking an experienced Private Cloud Security Architect for an inside IR35 contract role. You will bridge security architecture and engineering to embed security into a new on‑prem private cloud platform.

You will work with infrastructure teams, translating threats into practical designs, controls and automated testing, across compute, virtualization, networking, storage and open‑source stacks. Hybrid working in Cambridge (1 day/wk) with 4 days WFH.

Qualifications

Inside IR35 contract role

Multi-national company seeks an experienced Private Cloud Security Architect to support the development of a new on-premise private cloud platform.

Sitting between security architecture and engineering, you will work closely with infrastructure teams to embed security into the platform from the outset, translating threats and security requirements into practical designs, controls and automated testing.

The key requirement is strong experience designing or building private cloud infrastructure, with knowledge across compute, virtualisation, networking, storage and open-source technology stacks.

You will bring strong experience across containerisation and orchestration, PKI, identity and access management, infrastructure hardening and DevSecOps technologies including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and security automation.

This is a hands‑on role suited to a security professional with genuine private cloud infrastructure experience who can operate comfortably across both security architecture and engineering.

The role requires hybrid working in Cambridge one day a week, with 4 days working from home.
