Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Private Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (Windows) to design, build and support secure private cloud infrastructure. The role is hands-on, focusing on automation and 'as code' delivery within a hybrid Leeds-based team.

You'll lead architectural design, mentor teams, and collaborate across internal and external partners to deliver scalable, secure solutions while advancing your skills in modern infrastructure engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience as infrastructure engineer in a private cloud environment.
• Proficient with Windows OS (2012 onwards) and OS hardening.
• Hands-on with automation tools (Chef, Terraform, Ansible, Salt).
• Strong knowledge of Git/GitHub for source control.
• Familiarity with Windows security standards and OS hardening.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design of infrastructure platform technologies.
• Hands-on work building and maintaining hybrid products and services.
• Lead technical conversations with stakeholders including Senior Management.
• Collaborate across internal, external and 3rd party teams.
• Drive automation and security best practices.
• Provide education and mentorship on infrastructure topics.
• Act as SME in a facet of infrastructure engineering within the hybrid cloud.

JOB TITLE: Private Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (Windows) (Open)

SALARY: Leeds

LOCATION(S): £72,702 - £80,780

HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours per week

About this opportunity

LBG Private Cloud is looking for Infrastructure Specialists to join our Operating Systems team. We build and run secure, resilient platforms that support modern, private cloud-based services for customers and developers.

In this role, you'll work hands-on with operating systems to design, build and support reliable infrastructure in our private cloud environment. You'll help modernise our technology by using automation and "as code" approaches to deliver scalable, secure and repeatable solutions.

You'll be part of a collaborative team that shapes how our platforms are built and improved, with a strong focus on security, compliance and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to make a real impact while developing your skills in modern infrastructure engineering.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the architectural design of infrastructure platform technologies and products across our ecosystem.

• Be hands-on, working on building and maintaining our hybrid products and services in your specialist area

• Lead technical conversations with collaborators of varying levels of technical background, including Senior Management and other Subject Matter Experts

• Be a great collaborator across internal, external, and 3rd party teams

• Drive best-in-class approaches to automation and security

• Can provide education and mentorship covering infrastructure engineering topics to support different teams on those topics, and drive upskilling

• Be an SME in a particular aspect of infrastructure engineering, bringing your skills to our specialist teams whilst working to expand your knowledge across the hybrid cloud platform

What we're looking for?

Demonstrable experience as an infrastructure Engineer working in a private cloud environment specialising in the following technologies:

• Windows Operating System (2012 onwards)

• Automation Tooling (Chef / Terraform / Ansible / Salt)

• Source Code Management (Git / GitHub)

• Windows Security Standards and OS Hardening

And any experience of these would be great

• Dell Open Manage

• VMware (including NSX and VMware ARIA suite)

• Databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

• Storage & Backup (SAN, NAS, vSAN)

• Networking (DHCP / WINS / DNS)

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

• Experience working in a government regulated environment
