Job summary

Crowe Watson Recruitment is working with a leading Exeter-based Chartered Accountants firm to recruit a Private Client Tax Senior Manager. The role leads complex private client compliance and advisory work for high net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, with a clear pathway to partnership.

You will advise at senior level on income tax, capital gains tax and IHT, oversee junior staff, mentor managers and help grow the tax practice through proposals and networking.

Qualifications

• CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified with strong private client tax background.
• Min six years in a UK practice.
• Experience at manager or senior manager level on private client advisory.
• Deep knowledge of UK personal tax, CGT, IHT, trusts and estates.
• Able to engage with board/partners and lead teams.
• Commercial mindset with proactive business development.

£72,000 to £84,000 per annum (DOE) Permanent, full time

A CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified Private Client Tax Senior Manager is sought by a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Exeter, to lead the delivery of complex compliance and advisory work across a varied client portfolio.

Exeter is one of the South West's fastest growing cities, and the firm has built a well respected private client practice within it, serving high net worth individuals, trusts and estates across a range of complexity. The role carries real strategic influence, with a structured pathway to partnership and the client base to make that a near term prospect.

What's the day to day of the role:

• Leading private client tax compliance and advisory delivery across a complex portfolio
• Advising at senior level across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts and estates
• Overseeing the review of returns and compliance work prepared by managers and junior staff
• Driving business development through proposals, networking and growing the practice
• Building senior client relationships and acting as trusted adviser to key stakeholders
• Leading and developing the managers and junior members of the private client team
• Contributing to the strategic direction of the tax practice alongside senior leadership

Required skills and qualifications:

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified with an exceptional private client tax background gained in practice
• At least six years' experience within a UK Practice environment
• Track record at manager or senior manager level on complex private client advisory work
• Deep technical knowledge of UK personal tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts and estates
• Confidence to engage at board and partner level, with proven experience developing teams
• Commercially driven, with a proactive approach to business development
