Private Client Tax Senior Manager

Your role is to ensure the delivery of the private client tax workflow and to manage a portfolio of private client tax relationships. You will provide technical expertise to clients and internal colleagues, ensuring high-quality service while adhering to budgets and maximizing fee recovery.

Scope & Key Relationships

  • Assist with SL functional responsibilities
  • Provide technical input for internal and external needs
  • Manage own client portfolio and develop relationships
  • Work with partners, employees, and external bodies like HMRC

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planning, resourcing, and allocation of client work
  • Ensure work is within budget and reviewed appropriately
  • Provide technical advice and manage the tax return cycle
  • Produce high-quality reports and correspondence
  • Monitor work progress and communicate with clients
  • Manage billing and WIP
  • Develop technical skills and stay updated on legislation

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain and develop your client portfolio
  • Respond to client requests and manage relationships
  • Support cross-selling and internal collaboration

Leadership & People Management

  • Line manage and develop team members
  • Set objectives, monitor performance, and provide feedback
  • Participate in recruitment and foster team culture

Financial & Business Planning

  • Monitor team KPIs and performance
  • Implement remedial actions when necessary

Business Development

  • Build network and generate leads
  • Support departmental growth and cross-referrals
