Private Client Tax Senior
We are seeking a Private Client Tax Senior to a growing Accountancy Practice based in Hertfordshire. This role involves managing a diverse personal client tax portfolio, encompassing both routine tax compliance and ad hoc advisory work. The successful candidate will operate under the guidance of an Assistant Manager and will be the primary point of contact for clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day requirements for a Private Client portfolio, which includes clients with varied sources of income such as earned and investment income.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high standards of service and communication.
- Liaise with colleagues from other departments on client matters.
- Handle a range of capital gains tax issues and assist with or manage the delivery of technical advisory work.
- Attend client meetings, propose fees, raise client bills, and regularly review Work in Progress (WIP).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ATT qualification is required; studying for or planning to study for the CTA qualification is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in tax advisory and portfolio management.
- Familiarity with Self-Assessment and preparation of tax computations.
- Experience in basic private client advisory work, including advising on EIS, VCT, and SEIS investment reliefs.
- Knowledge of UK tax residence and domicile rules is preferred.
- Ability to use tax legislation, HMRC guidance, and other resources to research and support technical issues.
- Experience with private clients, non-UK domiciled and non-UK resident clients, UK-based high net worth individuals, and property-owning clients.
