Meraki Talent is partnering with a well-established professional services firm to appoint an experienced Private Client Tax Manager in Cambridge. You will manage a varied portfolio of individuals and families, delivering high-quality personal tax compliance and advisory services.

You will supervise junior team members, contribute to business development, and build strong client relationships while staying up to date with UK tax developments.

Qualifications

• Strong technical grounding in UK private client tax.
• Experience reviewing complex personal tax returns.
• Experience managing a portfolio of private clients.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to supervise and develop junior team members.
• Commercial mindset to develop client relationships and win new work.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of private clients with complex tax matters.
• Review UK Private Client tax returns for accuracy and deadlines.
• Prepare and approve tax packs and client correspondence.
• Provide practical, technically sound advice on personal tax.
• Build trusted client relationships and understand their objectives.
• Communicate with clients and advisory teams to ensure delivery.
• Conduct technical tax research and stay updated on UK tax changes.
• Identify opportunities for additional advisory services.
• Assist with proposals, fee quotes, and tenders.
• Delegate work to juniors and provide guidance.
• Develop team members through responsibility and challenging tasks.
• Monitor workflow, deadlines, WIP and recoverability.
• Suggest process improvements and adopt new technology.
• Support departmental development initiatives.
