Job summary

Butler Rose Public Practice in High Wycombe is seeking a Tax Manager to lead a personal and private client tax function within a friendly independent accountancy practice. You will own the department, drive compliance and provide strategic advisory services to a portfolio of clients.

The role offers autonomy, leadership opportunity, and scope to shape the tax offering, working closely with Partners and Directors in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• ACCA and/or CTA qualification required or Qualified by Experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years' UK accountancy practice experience.
• Strong background in personal/private client tax and mixed tax.
• Experience in both compliance and advisory work.
• Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax and private clients.
• Oversee compliance including self-assessment filings.
• Provide tax planning and advisory services.
• Support development of mixed tax services within the practice.
• Take ownership of the tax function and contribute to its growth.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients and key contact.
