PRO-TAX RECRUITMENT LIMITED is recruiting a Private Client Tax Director in Leeds with hybrid working. The role leads UK private client tax advisory and compliance for high-net-worth individuals and families, advising on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax, and wealth preservation planning.

You will build relationships, oversee complex tax returns, mentor staff, and drive business development while liaising with HMRC and staying ahead of regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• CTA/ATT/ACA/ACCA qualifications required.
• Private Client advisory experience essential.
• Experience running a team and managing WIP is important.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of UK private client tax advisory and compliance services for high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, trusts, and estates.
• Provide strategic income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and wealth preservation planning advice.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships and act as adviser on complex tax matters and succession planning.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and cross-selling.
• Oversee preparation and review of complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor senior managers and wider team to foster technical development and high-quality client service.
• Liaise with HMRC on enquiries and disclosures, delivering effective resolutions for clients.
• Monitor legislative changes and provide proactive advice to clients and internal stakeholders.

We are currently working with a leading professional services firm in Leeds who are looking to bring in an experienced Private Client Tax Director. The firm are a well established accountancy firm with a strong reputation for supporting wealthy individuals across the UK.

Your new role:

• Lead the delivery of UK private client tax advisory and compliance services for high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, trusts, and estates
• Provide strategic advice on income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and wealth preservation planning
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships, acting as a key adviser on complex tax matters and succession planning
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, supporting growth through networking, referrals, and cross-selling initiatives
• Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Manage and mentor senior managers and wider team members, fostering technical development and high-quality client service
• Liaise with HMRC on enquiries, disclosures, and technical matters, delivering effective resolutions for clients
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, providing proactive advice to clients and internal stakeholders

To be successful in this role you'll need:

• CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA qualified
• Private Client advisory experience
• Experience running a team, WIP management, business development etc
• Also open to a Senior Manager who is looking to take a step up
