About this opportunity

This role may suit a Director or an experienced Senior Manager/Associate Director from another professional practice with ambitions for partnership.

Following growth in their Private Client Tax team, they are seeking an ambitious, credible, and experienced Director to lead this function into its next phase.

Recent growth has been impressive (66% headcount increase in their Thames Valley Tax team since year-end), with exciting plans for future development of Private Client Tax services.

This leadership role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality Private Client Tax work, managing a talented team, and developing a strategic business plan that includes business development, workforce, and succession planning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the team to deliver high-quality Private Client Tax services.
• Advising colleagues on technical tax matters and empowering the team.
• Being the go-to expert for private client tax issues, including UK resident and non-domiciled tax, international clients, property, income tax, capital gains tax, IHT, trusts and estates, HNWIs.
• Developing and executing a business plan and service line strategy, including client acquisition and retention strategies.
• Collaborating with other service lines to inform clients of relevant tax changes.
• Building trusted relationships with clients, being responsive and proactive.
• Managing client expectations, fees, and time costs effectively.
• Minimizing professional risk through proper documentation and internal processes.
• Preparing tailored reports for diverse clients.
• Representing the firm’s values and principles externally and internally.
• Providing thought leadership via social media, articles, events, and direct communication.
• Performing other duties as required.
