Job summary

Butler Rose Public Practice is recruiting a Private Client Tax Assistant to work on Self-Assessment returns for individuals, directors and business owners. You will support a Tax Senior, gaining exposure to personal tax compliance and advisory work in a collaborative team.

Ideal candidates include ATT qualified or studying, or those qualified by experience, with a good grasp of Self-Assessment and a proactive, client-focused approach.

Qualifications

• ATT qualified, ATT studying, or qualified by experience
• Experience in personal tax within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong understanding of Self-Assessment tax compliance
• Excellent time management and attention to detail
• Proactive, client-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals, directors and business owners
• Supporting the Personal Tax Senior with a range of personal tax compliance and advisory work
• Liaising with clients and HMRC to resolve tax queries and obtain information
• Assisting with tax planning projects where appropriate
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with HMRC deadlines
• Building strong client relationships through excellent service and communication

Tax Assistant - Private Client Personal Tax

Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a well-established and friendly accountancy practice in the recruitment of a Private Client Tax Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ATT qualified, ATT studier or qualified by experience tax professional looking to develop their career within personal tax. Working closely with an experienced Tax Senior, you will gain exposure to a broad range of personal tax matters while becoming a valued member of a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals, directors and business owners
• Supporting the Personal Tax Senior with a range of personal tax compliance and advisory work
• Liaising with clients and HMRC to resolve tax queries and obtain information
• Assisting with tax planning projects where appropriate
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with HMRC deadlines
• Building strong client relationships through excellent service and communication

Key Requirements

• ATT qualified, ATT studying, or qualified by experience
• Previous experience working within personal tax in a UK accountancy practice
• Good understanding of Self-Assessment tax compliance
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Confident communicator with a proactive and client-focused approach
• Eager to learn and develop within personal tax
