Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive - Newhaven

Location: Newhaven (with some home working available)

Contract Type: Full-time or Part-time

A well-regarded Sussex law firm is seeking a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its friendly Private Client team in Newhaven. This role offers the chance to work in a supportive environment, with a focus on elderly client management and a wide range of private client matters.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting the Partner and working alongside other Solicitors and Practitioners in the department. Much of your work will focus on elderly client services, including the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate, and managing client affairs where the firm is appointed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing elderly client affairs, including healthcare and finances.
  • Drafting Wills, LPAs, probate applications, and related documentation.
  • Preparing client care letters, questionnaires, and maintaining accurate files.
  • Handling routine client communications and enquiries.
  • Supporting the Partner and colleagues, including supervision of immediate support staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with professional rules and internal procedures.
  • Contributing to business development and promoting the Private Client department.
Skills & Experience
  • Solicitor or Legal Executive (PQE flexible).
  • Experience in elderly client management is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage your own caseload.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently while being a supportive team player.
  • Positive, proactive approach with good IT literacy and case management knowledge.
