Job summary

QED Legal Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced private client solicitor to join a long-established Yorkshire law firm based in Ilkley. The role covers wills, inheritance tax planning, trusts, and administration powers of attorney with COP applications and probate work. A busy caseload is expected with opportunities to contribute to BD activities.

The firm operates across North and West Yorkshire, with a private client presence in multiple offices and a supportive team of 11 fee earners.

Qualifications

• 3+ PQE as a private client solicitor
• Experience handling wills, estate planning, trusts, and probate
• Exposure to power of attorney and COP (court of protection) applications
• Willingness to engage in BD activities and local events

Job description

A long-established, and highly respected Yorkshire law firm are looking for an experienced (3+ PQE) private client solicitor to join the team, though other levels of experience please feel free to apply.

Within the team, there are 11 fee earners (each with an assistant), and there is a private client presence in every office.

The caseload is a really diverse mix of wills, inheritance tax planning, trust creation and administration powers of attorney, COP applications, and probate and estate admin of varying complexity. Due to the locations of the firm, there is an exposure to agriculture and with this can come large estates.

With this in mind, there is a busy caseload to walk into so whilst there's no expectation to "build" a caseload, there is still an expectation to take part in BDactivities which can vary from supporting at local events or just writing on social media platforms.

The role itself is to be based in Ilkley but the firm have a strong presence across North and West Yorkshire.
