Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd seeks a Private Client Solicitor to join an Essex-based practice with a strong reputation for private client services. The role focuses on managing wills, lasting powers of attorney, estate administration, probate and trust planning for a diverse client base.

The successful candidate will work autonomously on own files while collaborating with a supportive, experienced team. PQE of 3+ years is expected, with STEP qualification advantageous.

A Private Client Solicitor is required for a permanent, full-time position based in Essex, offering a salary up to £50,000 dependent on experience.

The ideal candidate will possess over three years of post‑qualification experience and manage a diverse caseload encompassing wills, lasting powers of attorney, estate administration, probate, and trust planning. This role demands autonomy in handling files while collaborating with an award‑winning, supportive department.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including drafting wills, advising on lasting powers of attorney, estate administration, probate and trust and estate planning matters.
• Work independently, having autonomy to handle own files while working closely with an experienced and welcoming team.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail, strong client advisory abilities, and proficiency in estate planning matters.

Qualifications

• 3+ years post‑qualification experience as a Private Client Solicitor.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent client care skills and the ability to form strong client relationships.
• Self‑motivated, able to keep on top of goals when working independently, and contribute positively to a collaborative culture.
• STEP qualification or being currently working towards this membership is advantageous.
