Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is assisting a Middlesbrough-based firm in finding a Private Client Solicitor to join their growing team in North Yorkshire.

You will handle wills, probate, powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters, build relationships with clients, and contribute to business development while delivering excellent legal services.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years PQE and STEP diploma preferred.
• Experience handling wills, probate, powers of attorney, and Court of Protection.
• Strong client care and interpersonal skills with ability to develop business.

• Manage a varied private client caseload including wills, probate, and Court of Protection work.
• Advise clients, interview and negotiate on their behalf.

My client is searching for a Private Client Solicitor to join their growing firm based in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire.

Job Purpose

• To advise on a broad range of private client matters, undertake research, prepare documents and correspondence, interview clients and negotiate on behalf of clients.
• To contribute to their mission of establishing lifelong relationships with all their clients by anticipating and responding to the client’s needs for quality legal services

Main Duties

• To manage a varied caseload of private client matters including:
  • Wills
  • Probate
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Court of Protection cases
• To take a proactive approach in building professional relationships with clients and other contacts
• To maintain and promote the good image and reputation of the firm
• To assist colleagues, Directors and Heads of Department with marketing and training events and initiatives
• To manage and supervise junior staff and support staff as required including assisting with recruitment, training etc

The ideal candidate

• The successful candidate will ideally be at least 3 years PQE (preferably having attained the STEP diploma)
• The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling their own caseload
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate good experience in the areas of wills, probate, powers of attorney, Court of Protection applications, and trusts.
• Experience with HNW individuals, estate planning matters and farming clients is also desirable.
• The candidate will work well as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
• Candidates must be IT literate.
• You will have strong client care and interpersonal skills.
• You must be self-motivated and have a desire to participate in business development activities.
