Job summary

Simpson Judge in Hove is seeking a Senior Private Client Solicitor to lead the Head of Office, manage a diverse caseload in wills, trusts and probate, and drive growth for the private client department.

You will advise HNW clients, mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to business development while working in a flexible hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX with 5+ PQE in private client work.
• STEP qualification desirable.
• Strong technical experience across wills, trusts, probate, and estate planning.
• Experience advising HNW clients and managing complex estates.
• Leadership with mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of private client matters including wills, LPAs, probate, trusts, estate administration.

OVERVIEW

Join a reputable Legal 500 firm with a highly regarded Private Client team, known for high-quality work for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to lead the office. You will run your own caseload across wills, trusts, estate and succession planning, tax planning, LPAs, and probate and estate administration, while taking responsibility for the office's day-to-day running and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing a varied caseload of private client matters including wills, LPAs, probate, trusts, estate administration, Court of Protection and estate planning.


• Advising HNW individuals, families, elderly and vulnerable clients on complex private client matters.


• Building strong relationships with clients, referrers and professional advisers.


• Managing matters with autonomy while contributing to the wider team’s success.


• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.


• Contributing to business development, networking and the continued growth of the department.

ABOUT YOU

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 5+ PQE in private client work.


• Strong technical experience across wills, trusts, probate, estate planning and inheritance tax.


• Experience advising HNW clients and managing complex estates.


• STEP qualification (or working towards) desirable.


• Strong client care, communication and leadership skills.


• A collaborative approach with an interest in developing your career, with progression towards partnership.
