Job summary

Ware & Kay Group in Malton is seeking a Probate Solicitor to manage a varied private client caseload, including wills, probate, estate administration, and lasting powers of attorney, with tax and trusts knowledge.

You will draft documents, investigate assets, prepare probate applications and HMRC submissions, and maintain records, billing and regulatory standards.

You will supervise staff, build client relationships, and contribute to referrals and practice development.

Qualifications

• Experience in private client work in a law firm and ability to explain complex issues clearly and sensitively.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied private client caseload, delivering accurate advice and progressing matters.
• Draft legal documents, investigate estates and prepare probate applications and HMRC submissions.
• Build trusted client relationships, take ownership of time recording and billing, and maintain regulatory and quality standards.
• Guide support staff and junior colleagues on allocated matters, and contribute to referrals, networking and practice development.
