Job summary

Motus in Birmingham is seeking an established Private Client Partner to lead the wills, trusts, estates and tax practice. You will manage high-value matters with autonomy and supervise junior lawyers, building lasting client relationships.

You will shape strategy, contribute to the growth of the private client team, and play a pivotal role in a friendly, collaborative partnership within a financially stable independent firm.

Qualifications

• Strong technical experience across wills, trusts, probate/estates and tax.
• Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.
• Proven supervisory and people-management experience.
• Commercial awareness and an appetite for business development.
• Ability to manage complex matters confidently and independently.
• Collaborative approach and contribution to a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Advise a diverse private client base on wills, trusts, estates, succession planning and related tax matters.
• Manage complex and high-value client matters with a high degree of autonomy.
• Develop and strengthen existing client relationships while identifying opportunities for further growth.
• Provide supervision, guidance and support to junior members of the team.
• Contribute to the strategic development and continued growth of the private client practice.
• Play an active role within a friendly, collaborative and ambitious partnership.
