Job Description:

An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join one of Hertfordshire’s most respected multi-service law firms, renowned for its excellence in client care and consistently ranked in the Legal (Tier 1) and Chambers High Net Worth (Band 1). The firm is seeking a skilled Private Client Legal Secretary to support its Private Client department.

This team includes four Partners, senior associates, solicitors, and legal assistants. As a Legal Secretary, you will support at least two fee earners, handling complex and sensitive matters professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client communications and schedule appointments
  • Open and close client files, ensuring AML compliance
  • Maintain lawyer diaries, coordinate meetings, handle correspondence
  • Prepare legal documents and assist with deeds
  • Coordinate with accounts for billing and financial processing
  • Update case management systems and maintain client records
  • Perform administrative tasks like archiving and photocopying
  • Support IT and office equipment issues
  • Assist with departmental cover, phone duties, and overflow support
  • Uphold firm policies and ensure high client service standards

About You:

Applicants should have legal secretarial experience, preferably in Private Client, but other legal disciplines are considered. You should have a client-focused approach, fast and accurate typing skills, and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential for working in a high-performing environment.
