Job summary

This leading Scottish law firm is recruiting a Private Client Lawyer to join its established team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to work within one of Scotland's largest private client practices, advising individuals and families on a broad range of wealth preservation, succession and estate planning matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advising clients on wills, trusts, estate planning and succession matters
• Providing inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning advice, including agricultural and business property reliefs
• Drafting bespoke wills and trust documentation tailored to clients’ individual circumstances
• Managing executry and trust administrations, including complex and taxable estates
• Supporting adults with incapacity matters, including powers of attorney
• Collaborating with colleagues and professional advisers to deliver comprehensive client solutions

Applicants should have at least 3 years' PQE in private client work, with experience in wills, trusts, executries and estate planning. Strong technical knowledge of inheritance tax, trust taxation and succession planning is desirable. STEP qualification would be advantageous, although not essential. Candidates should be commercially minded, detail-oriented, and confident building long-term client relationships.
