Job description

A well-established law firm in Wigan is seeking an experienced and motivated Private Client Solicitor to join their respected team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and professional environment, managing a varied and rewarding caseload.

The Role:

You will handle a diverse range of Private Client matters including:

  • Wills and Probate
  • Estate Administration (including taxable estates and post-death variations)
  • Court of Protection applications (particularly Lay Deputyship applications)

You’ll be expected to provide high-quality legal advice with a focus on client care and sensitivity, often working with elderly clients or those managing vulnerable individuals’ affairs.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or an experienced private client fee earner with equivalent expertise
  • Experience managing your own caseload of wills, probate, estate administration, and Court of Protection work
  • Desirable: STEP qualification (Qualified Practitioner or Diploma route), membership of Solicitors for the Elderly
  • Strong organisational skills, empathy, and a client-focused approach
  • Ability to manage complex matters with autonomy and professionalism
