Job summary

Henderson Scott Limited is seeking a Private Client Lawyer in Petersfield to join an established Private Client team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ PQE and a ready-made caseload, handling wills, probate, and estate planning with a strong client-care focus.

You will manage a varied caseload, work independently as a fee earner, and build lasting relationships with clients and professionals while progressing matters efficiently and commercially.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' PQE in Private Client
• Experience handling a broad Private Client caseload
• Strong experience across Wills, Probate and Estate Administration

Responsibilities

• Prepare Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and estate administration
• Obtain Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
• Estate planning and Inheritance Tax planning
• Trusts and trust administration, Deeds of variation, Deeds of gift
• Advise executors, trustees and beneficiaries; support clients with succession planning
• Manage an established and active caseload; work independently with team support

Location: Petersfield

Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 DOE

A reputable and well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Lawyer to join its established team in Petersfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor or Lawyer with 3+ PQE to join a respected firm with an active caseload ready to walk into from day one.

The role would suit a confident fee earner looking for a strong existing client base, a varied caseload and the opportunity to develop their career within an established Private Client team.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a varied Private Client caseload, including:

• Preparation of Wills
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Probate and estate administration
• Obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
• Estate planning
• Inheritance Tax planning
• Trusts and trust administration
• Deeds of variation
• Deeds of gift
• Advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries
• Supporting clients with wider succession planning requirements

You will:

• Manage an established and active caseload
• Work independently as a fee earner while having access to support from the wider team
• Provide clear and practical advice to clients
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Progress matters efficiently and commercially
• Maintain high standards of client care
• Contribute to the continued success of the Private Client department

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years' PQE in Private Client
• Experience handling a broad Private Client caseload
• Strong experience across Wills, Probate and Estate Administration
• A good understanding of Estate Planning and Inheritance Tax
• The ability to manage an independent caseload
• Strong client care and communication skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• The confidence to work as a fee earner
• A professional and personable approach
• The ability to build strong relationships with clients and professional contacts
