Job description

Aspiria Recruit has a fantastic opportunity to join a modern and progressive law firm in Plymouth. In this role, you will be supporting the head of the department and other partners and be expected to promote yourself and the firm to win work from existing and new clients. The main purpose of your role will be to conduct a caseload of files for private clients including but not limited to, probate, LPA, and will matters. This is a really exciting opportunity for someone to join a firm that values their employees and encourages them to grow with the firm. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years' PQE and will have the desire to put the client and quality of service first.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct of matters on behalf of clients, including conducting client meetings, seeking instructions on and completing work such as will drafting, the administration of estates, tax planning, preparation of lasting powers of attorney.
  • Assist colleagues with their fee-earning work where appropriate (e.g., during bottlenecks and leave periods), particularly the head of department and partners.
  • Perform fee-earning work accurately, reliably, and in accordance with the firm’s quality and risk management procedures (Lexcel).
  • Maintain and nurture a network of contacts and referrers and endeavour to promote the firm in their professional and personal lives.
  • Maintain IT skills appropriate to modern legal practice.

Skills & Experience sought:

  • A sympathetic and understanding approach, especially to the needs of wills and probate clients.
  • Proven (measurable) success in winning new client business through referrals and business development activities.
  • High integrity and energy, able to problem solve and prioritise.
  • An individual who sets quality as a prime objective in everything they do, paying great attention to detail, able to deal with complex matters with good research and drafting skills.
  • A good written and oral communicator capable of building a good rapport with clients and colleagues.
