Job summary

Higgs LLP is seeking an Estate Manager within the Private Client department’s Estates team. The role covers a varied caseload of estate administration, including taxable and non-taxable estates.

You will handle probate matters, liaise with clients, and work with accountants and tax advisers to ensure accurate estate accounts. We offer hybrid working where possible and value a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the estate administration process from instruction through to final distribution.
• Experience communicating with clients via telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings.
• Knowledge of inheritance tax returns (IHT205, IHT400, IHT421).
• Understanding of IHT allowances including Nil Rate Band and Transferable Nil Rate Band.
• Ability to prepare and maintain estate accounts and liaise with accountants and tax advisers.
• Proficient in using Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Skilled in preparing and submitting inheritance tax returns (IHT205, IHT400, IHT421).

• Working knowledge of will validity and interpretation, seeking specialist guidance when needed.
• Proficient in preparing and maintaining estate accounts and liaising with external professionals.
