Private Client Adviser - Farnborough (Desk Based)

Our client is looking for a desk-based Private Client Advisor in Farnborough.

Job Content:

Summary of Job Purpose:

  1. To provide cost efficient, effective and compliant whole of market/focused financial planning advice to Pension Liability members, client bank and new clients.
  2. To identify and develop new business opportunities from existing clients, introducers and referrals to achieve agreed activity targets.
  3. To conduct yourself in accordance with the FCA’s Statement of Principles and Code of Practice for Approved Persons.
  4. To promote and provide a comprehensive and compliant service to new and existing clients within the activities as defined and authorised by our client.

Planning & Reporting:

  1. Planning diary is imperative to balance time between meeting clients, generating income, proactive prospecting and personal development.
  2. Reporting weekly and monthly as per the requirements of your management team.

Internal Relationships:

  1. Liaise daily/weekly with Business Service Centre, Paraplanning, Compliance and Client Liaison to ensure client activity and work is progressing.
  2. Liaise and engage with both T&C Manager and Line Manager as often as required to meet supervisory and development requirements.

Ensure that all regulated work is carried out in accordance with compliance framework and proposition tools. Ensure that advice is professional, compliant and free of errors. It is expected that candidates will hold a Pension Transfer Specialist Qualification or will be committed to obtain the relevant qualification within 12 months of joining.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. To comply with FCA rules and guidance and the company’s T&C procedures.
  2. Proactively generate new business opportunities using existing clients, leads provided and self-generated opportunities.
  3. To maintain and develop client relationships, maximising their potential.
  4. To ensure all targets are met and work is completed in a compliant manner and meets the company’s quality standards.
  5. To field inbound calls and emails requesting advice from the company’s strategic partner relationships.
  6. To maintain the appropriate level of CPD.
  7. To work in a team environment.

Required skills:

  1. Strong communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written.
  2. Strong time management and negotiation skills.
  3. Strong application of technical skill in regulated planning.

Knowledge:

  1. Pension transfer experience.
  2. Technical and product knowledge.
  3. Sound operating knowledge of IT systems and packages.

Experience:

  1. Research, analysis and interpretation, file preparation and report writing.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Ability to work largely unsupervised, but to contribute and participate in team goals/objectives.
  4. Regulated sales experience.
  5. Client management experience.
  6. Experience in working with professional introducers.
  7. Experience of providing advice via telephone.

Qualifications:

  1. Achievement of QCA Level 4 Minimum – Essential.
  2. AF7 or Equivalent Qualification or be working towards within 12 months of joining.
  3. Working toward QCA level 6 – Desired.
