Job summary

Taylor Walton LLP in Harpenden is seeking a Private Client Solicitor with 4–6 years PQE to join our established Private Client Department. You will advise on wills, trusts, estate planning, probate and related matters for high net worth individuals.

Under supervision, you will handle increasingly complex matters and develop your practice in a firm renowned for staff retention and a supportive, collaborative culture. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

The department

Our Private Client Team is High Net Worth Chambers rated and ranked Tier 1 in Legal 500 (in the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Middlesex Region) with our Department Head, Alex Drake and fellow Partners Alison Voyce, Steven Hamilton and Zoe Sivelle recognised for their specialist expertise. We advise business owners and high-net worth individuals often over generations on both local and multi-jurisdictional matters relating to wills, estate planning, probate, trusts, powers of attorney and tax planning strategies.

All partners in the team have a substantial personal following and are members of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

About the role

We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a candidate of 4 years PQE+ to join our established Private Client Department in the Firm’s Harpenden office.

The successful applicant will provide a range of advice and services to the Firm’s individual clients, ranging from the preparations of Wills and Trusts, inheritance tax planning, and probate & estate administration. The complexity of matters will depend on the candidates PQE and will increase with support and supervision as experience grows. Under supervision, the successful candidate will gain experience of handling larger value estates and more complex family circumstances.

Our Private Client Team specialise in assisting with a wide range of sensitive and complex issues. The role requires candidates who are able to approach matters and deal with clients in a professional yet sensitive manner. Candidates must be able to communicate with clients, verbally and through documentation, in a manner that is clear and easily understood whilst also taking into account the specific circumstance of each case to address the correct legal issues and ensure that the best decisions are made for the client.

Key Requirements

• Private Client Solicitor with 4-6 years PQE.
• Demonstrates excellent client service delivery and has the ability to work. effectively with clients of different backgrounds, ages and with different requirements, maintaining a professional and courteous manner at all times.
