Private Banking Assistant (Arabic speaker)

Location: Central London

Job purpose: The Private Banking Assistant supports Private Banking Relationship Managers in their daily activities, including account opening, amendments, closures, follow-up on debit cards/internet banking, AML, and credit tasks.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1. Account opening: Prepare account opening packs, perform WorldChecks, risk assessments (personal and corporate), adverse media checks, and send welcome letters to new customers.
2. Client relationship transfers: Handle and manage transfers between Retail and Private Banking clients.
3. Debit cards: Ensure timely ordering, activation, cancellation, handle fraud investigations, and refunds.
4. Internet banking: Assist clients with registration, activation, access issues, and queries.
5. Credit: Prepare and follow up on customer information sheets; may prepare risk modeling templates for credit applications.
6. Customer communication: Periodically inform customers about their funds' status.
7. Confidentiality: Maintain customer confidentiality and adhere to security protocols and legal requirements.
8. Policies and procedures: Follow Private Banking SOPs and Financial Crime Policies.
9. General duties: Perform tasks diligently and work closely with relationship managers on various client and bank-related tasks.

Qualification & Experience:

Qualification: University degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

Experience: Up to 3 years in banking, with knowledge of financial markets, bank products, systems, and procedures. Understanding of cultural sensitivities, good communication skills, and fluency in Arabic, with a good understanding of Middle Eastern culture.
