Join us as a Private Bank & Wealth Management Lawyer at Barclays. The primary purpose of this role is to provide legal and regulatory coverage for the Private Bank & Wealth Management (PBWM) business in the UK and Singapore. PBWM is an expanding business offering banking, credit, and investment services to retail and institutional clients across multiple jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will need to work collaboratively across jurisdictions, support the launch of PBWM’s Singapore platform, assist with product development, handle complex client complaints, and engage on regulatory matters related to PBWM. They will also work with internal and external counsel on cross-border marketing and sales questions.

Essential Skills/Qualifications

• Financial Services Regulatory Lawyer or Solicitor, qualified in the UK or an equivalent commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Knowledge of legal risk governance, policies, and procedures.
• Solutions-oriented, robust in facing challenges.

Purpose of the Role

To ensure activities in the PBWM division comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and to help manage legal and reputational risks.

Accountabilities

• Develop and implement legal strategies to manage compliance risks.
• Provide legal advice on investment, credit, and banking products/services.
• Support legal proceedings related to PBWM activities.
• Create and review legal documents to ensure compliance.
• Conduct legal research on regulatory changes.
• Develop training programs on legal and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and communicate legal risks, ensuring policies reflect legal requirements.
