The Privacy Counsel will play a key role in ensuring compliance with data protection laws and regulations within the FMCG industry. This permanent role in Uxbridge will focus on providing legal expertise to safeguard the organisation's privacy practices.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on data protection and privacy matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Develop and implement privacy policies and procedures across the organisation.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage responses to data subject requests in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Deliver training and guidance to internal teams on privacy and data protection best practices.
  • Support contract negotiations by reviewing and advising on data protection clauses.
  • Monitor updates to data protection regulations and ensure organisational adaptation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align privacy practices with business objectives.
Profile

A successful Privacy Counsel should have:

  • A degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws, including GDPR and related legislation.
  • Experience in providing legal counsel within the FMCG industry or similar sectors.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to privacy and data protection.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating privacy risks.
