The European Privacy Team, based in Dublin, London and Paris we are part of the wider TikTok Global Privacy and Regulatory Affairs team and we advise and support all aspects of TikTok and Bytedance Business in terms of data protection matters, GDPR and ePrivacy compliance.The RoleWe are looking for a curious and technically strong lawyer to join our European Privacy legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a supportive and impactful team and advise on cutting edge legal issues and technologies. Responsibilities- Advise on international data transfers.- Advise on third party data sharing, including law enforcement access requests.- Partner with business stakeholders to build new compliance tooling.- Advise on the application of privacy enhancing technologies.- Advise on a broad spectrum of HR privacy matters (from AI to Diversity & Inclusion).
Minimum Qualifications- European or UK qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' privacy experience at a law firm or in-house (in-house experience preferred). We will consider strong individuals with less or more experience.- Experience advising on data transfers is essential. - Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ability to draft clear documentation that is free of legal-ease and is useful for our business is a must.- Highly organised, self motivated and capable of driving forward challenging projects.- Demonstrated experience delivering high quality advice within tight deadlines and managing competing priorities.- A good sense of curiosity about how technology, process, and operations work.- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with legal colleagues and other cross functional stakeholders. - An ability to inspire and encourage colleagues. Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in a similar platform environment. - Experience on advising on HR matters specifically is not a requirement, provided you have a broad spectrum of other privacy experience.- Experience advising on PETs is not required but a commitment to quickly upskilling in this area is expected.
