Job description

Job Purpose

The post holder will provide an effective and efficient shopping and sundry provision service to the prisoner population within strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They will accurately collate and process individual orders via a bagging & tagging operation and deliver the orders to residential areas. The post holder may be required to cover the Prisoner Wages Admin Assistant as directed by management.

Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the delivery of an effective and efficient grocery/shopping service in accordance with agreed timescales.
  2. Undertake manual handling duties daily in a warehouse-type environment.
  3. Check canteen sheets for accuracy and process orders through an electronic point of sale system.
  4. Accurately pick, charge on the till, and seal prisoners' canteen orders for delivery within strict deadlines.
  5. Receive and check weekly stock deliveries and input data into stock management software.
  6. Manage stock effectively, including rotation and physical stock checks.
  7. Assist in delivering sundry purchase items to halls when required.
  8. Perform other tasks or relief cover as specified by the Deputy Finance Manager as part of a multi-functional team.
