Job description
Overview

You’ll be based on a specialist wing at HMP Rochester, helping people build confidence, pick up new skills and prepare for life after release. Some days it’s group work, some days it’s one-to-one, but every day you’ll be helping people make real changes. There are targets focused on positive impact, and paperwork to track what’s working so the prison and the charity can learn from what you do.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver group and one-to-one work with people on the wing to build confidence, skills and readiness for life after release.
  • Meet and work toward targets that measure positive outcomes rather than just activity.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork to document progress and outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience working with people facing tough issues such as criminal justice, homelessness, supported housing, drugs and alcohol.
  • Ability to motivate, listen, and keep your cool when behaviour is challenging.
  • Pass prison vetting and an enhanced DBS check.
Why join

This charity can be a genuine career maker. We placed someone here four years ago — three promotions later, they’re still going strong. There isn’t a set career path, but for people who want to progress, the options are there.

What you’ll get
  • A charity that’s won awards for being a great employer.
  • Proper training and support.
  • A role that makes a difference (and looks good on a CV).
