Prison officer opportunities at HMP Long Lartin

Salary: £33,746 - £38,003. Prison officers protect the public and help to make a positive impact on people’s lives. If you have the integrity, skills and strength of character we’re looking for, this fast-paced role could be the start of a successful career. No two days or situations are ever the same.

Responsibilities
  • Protect the public and contribute to making a positive impact on people’s lives.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
  • Build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders who could be at their lowest point in life.
  • Work as part of a team to keep the prison, offenders and colleagues safe.
  • Carry out a range of roles in any one day, including peacekeeping, counselling or teaching as needed.
  • Work various shifts and weekends as part of the role.
