Responsibilities
  • Protect the public and help to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
  • Work various shifts and weekends as part of a fast-paced role.
  • Carry out many different roles in any one day: peacekeeper, counsellor, or teacher.
  • Work directly with prisoners in a unique environment, helping to protect the public and make a positive impact.
  • Build constructive, positive, and professional relationships with offenders who could be at the lowest point in their lives.
  • Support colleagues and work as part of a team to keep the prison, offenders, and staff safe.
What we’re looking for
  • Integrity, skills, and strength of character.
  • Empathy, self-confidence, and great communication skills.
  • You may come from diverse backgrounds (e.g., parenting, teaching, retail, armed forces) and still fit well in this role.
