Job Title: Prison Offender Manager
Location: HMP Forest Bank, Agecroft Road, Salford M27 8FB

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Prison Offender Manager to manage and support low to medium risk offenders in custody. You'll work closely with offenders to assess risk, develop sentence plans, support rehabilitation, and reduce reoffending. You will also provide support to probation officers managing higher-risk cases.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of low to medium risk offenders, completing assessments and sentence plans (OASys).

Deliver one-to-one engagement and maintain accurate case records.

Participate in ACCT, MAPPA, parole hearings, and risk reduction activities.

Liaise with internal departments and external agencies (e.g., probation, UKBA) to support offender management.

Provide high-quality reports and recommendations to support parole, release planning, and risk management.

Requirements

5 GCSEs (A–C or equivalent)

Strong analytical and communication skills

Experience working with diverse individuals facing social or personal difficulties

Understanding of factors linked to offending and risk management

A Level or higher in a relevant subject (e.g., Criminology, Sociology)

Knowledge of criminal justice legislation and evidence-based practices

Experience representing individuals at hearings or tribunals

Offender engagement and sentence planning

Risk assessment and public protection

Teamwork and cross-agency collaboration

Emotional resilience and pro-social modelling

Commitment to continuous improvement
