Job Opportunity: Mental Health Nurse in Leyland

Based between two prisons in Leyland, you will be providing an efficient and effective service for residents with organic and functional mental health needs across HMP.

Responsibilities:

1. Medication administration, including controlled drugs
2. Emergency response (Code Red/Code Blue), including A-E assessment and NEWS
3. Basic wound dressing, including wound closure (e.g., steri-strip, skin glue)
4. Nurse-led clinics
5. Blood clinics
6. Administration of immunisations and vaccinations

Requirements:

• Degree relevant to the role
• Current and up-to-date registration with the NMC
• Prison clearance
• Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months (preferably on the update service)
• Full driving license and access to own vehicle (advantageous)
