Job summary

We Are With You is recruiting a Recovery Worker for roles in Wigan within a prison-linked recovery context. The role focuses on building therapeutic relationships, conducting assessments, planning recovery, and coordinating care to reduce substance-related harm and support resettlement.

The post is full-time (37.5 hours weekly) with progression through pay bands, and requires experience in health, social care or criminal justice settings, plus a commitment to compassionate, client-centered care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in health, social care, criminal justice, or motivation to work in drugs/alcohol sector.
• Proven track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service.
• Highly organised with excellent communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Build therapeutic relationships with individuals in custody or custody settings.
• Provide assessment, recovery planning, harm reduction, and structured interventions.
• Coordinate care across prison staff, healthcare professionals, and community services to ensure continuity of care.
• Contribute to reducing reoffending and supporting successful resettlement.
