Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a compassionate Substance Misuse Healthcare Support Worker for HMP Styal. You will work under a Registered Nurse to provide individualized care for prisoners, including physical health observations, phlebotomy clinics, NHS health checks, and health promotion.

The role requires flexibility to cover evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or NHS Care Certificate, and prior substance misuse experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or NHS Care Certificate.
• Experience working with people with complex health needs in health or social care settings.
• Willingness to work in a prison environment and in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard, individualized care under supervision of a nurse/practitioner.
• Undertake physical health observations and assist in clinics (Phlebotomy, ECG, NHS health checks).
• Maintain contemporaneous patient records and contribute to care plans.
• Support prisoners with health and wellbeing needs and promote safeguarding.
