Job summary

Trigon Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to join the Prison Education team at HMP The Mount. You will support learners with additional learning needs, working with tutors and prison staff to enable engagement with education and progression towards employment.

The role focuses on tailored support, safeguarding, and contributing to learner success in a secure setting. It is a permanent, on-site position with DBS clearance and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 4 or above (essential).
• Level 3 qualification in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with learners to understand individual needs.
• Provide one-to-one and in-class support for learners with additional learning needs.
• Help learners develop confidence, independence and self-advocacy.
• Encourage engagement, attendance and achievement across education programmes.
• Monitor wellbeing and conduct progress reviews.
• Develop and maintain individual support plans aligned to learner needs.
