Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a compassionate Roman Catholic Chaplain to provide pastoral care and spiritual support within HMP Northumberland, serving prisoners and staff from all faith backgrounds. This is a 30-hour-per-week role based at HMP Northumberland.

The salary is £26,629.93 per annum plus Sodexo benefits. The post focuses on rehabilitation, reintegration, and fostering an inclusive faith community within the prison.

Qualifications

• Recognised Roman Catholic Chaplain with authorisation from faith authorities.
• Experience in a similar chaplaincy or pastoral care role.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse faith backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care and support to prisoners and staff of all faiths.
• Maintain links with visiting Ministers and faith communities to support reintegration.
• Offer counselling to prisoners and staff as appropriate.
• Support the creation of an ordered and caring community where faith can be practiced.
• Facilitate religious prayers, teachings and faith activities.
